School
The school will do the following to ensure that your child receives a quality education:
- Provide access to school staff for parent conferences.
- Inform parents of grade level expectations and student progress.
- Conduct academic workshops to provide parents with resources that support their child.
- Communicate with parents by newsletters, school marquee, website, email, flyers, phone messages and planners.
- Provide quality opportunities for student learning to meet students’ varied learning styles.
Home
At home and school I will:
- Ensure my child arrives at school on time and remains at school the entire day.
- Drop off and pick up my child on time.
- Engage my child in a conversation about his/her school day.
- Ask my child direct questions about lessons/activities of the day.
Example: What letter did you learn about today? What did you learn in math?
- Review my child’s planner for information each night.
- Read to my child or listen to my child read and actively monitor my child’s reading progress.
- Keep the emergency information and contact card up to date.
- Attend one or more parent conference(s) as requested.
- Volunteer one or more hour(s) per year.
- Set limits on electronic usage at home.
Student
At home and at school I will:
- Come to class on time with the required materials.
- Complete my class and homework assignments.
- Read every night, or listen as a parent reads with me.
- Respect myself as well as others.
- Follow school rules and expectations.
- Actively participate in the learning process.
