Progress Reports:
Believe it or not, we are entering the 7th week of the 3rd quarter.  We are extremely close to closing out the quarter.  The end of the quarter is March 13th.  Students and parents, please take a few minutes and review your student’s progress. If you have any questions about the grades or the attendance for a particular class, please contact the teacher.  If you would like to schedule a parent/teacher conference, please contact Mrs. Benke at 352-524-5539.

Tutoring:
We will continue to have Weekly free tutoring is still available.  If your student is in need of tutoring in any subject area, please have them talk with their teachers or an administrator.

Important Message:
Please remember it is extremely important that ALL students must leave or be picked up immediately after school at 2pm. At no time is a student allowed to “hang-out” in the parking lot or anywhere on campus. There is NO adult supervision on campus after 2:30pm and there is no safe location for students to wait for a ride.  Please make sure your student has transportation immediately following the close of school.

2021 Course Selection:
Attention freshman, sophomores and juniors, Counselors were present in English classes throughout the week the week before last.  If you were absent and missed the opportunity to submit your course selections for next year, there will be make-up days this week on the 18th and 19th during all lunches in the IRC.

Exceptional Student Education Parent Survey:
The 2019-2020 Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Parent Survey is open through May 31, 2020. In an effort to increase parent participation, the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) is providing individual paper surveys to parents of children receiving special education services.  This does not include gifted services. The online version of the survey is also available to all parents at www.esesurvey.com. Paper copies will be sent home with your child.

Attention Seniors:
The cost of cap and gowns will increase by $25 beginning on February 24th. The new total will be $90.95. Please see Ms. Edwards for order information.

College Fair:
Mark your calendars for the Tampa National College Fair on Sunday, March 1st from 12:00pm – 3:00pm. Please see Ms. Edwards for details.

PERT:
Attention any students in need of taking the PERT for Dual Enrollment purposes.  There will be only one DE PERT available for the rest of this school year.  It will be given on April 15th after school. Please see Ms. Edwards for details. Again, this is the one and only PERT for the rest of the school year.

Attention Juniors:
On 3/25 all juniors will take the SAT during the school day. Students who are eligible to apply for accommodations have received information on how to apply for accommodations. It is imperative that your student returns this paper signed by Wednesday February 19th to apply for accommodations. Please return to Mr. Brady and contact him if you have any questions.

Attention Seniors:
A reminder for our Very Important Pirate Seniors:
Tuesday is PERT day for those who need to pass the math test to meet graduation requirements. PERT Prep with Mrs. Kilmer will begin at 7:30am in the upstairs front office on Tuesday.
Seniors who need reading for graduation: Prep with Ms. Myers will be Wednesday from 11-1 in the upstairs front office. We will test next week. Please contact Mrs. Webb with questions.

Testing:
Starting on Monday, February 24th, PHS will begin administering the following Spring State Assessments. The FSA ELA Writing Retakes (2/24), FSA ELA Reading Retakes (2/27 & 2/28), FSA Algebra 1 Retakes (3/4 & 3/5). These assessments will be for students in need of meeting the testing graduation requirement.  Students will have received a notification with his or her detailed testing information.  If you have any questions regarding these tests, please contact Eshonda Swackard and/or visit our school website for additional information.

School Advisory Committee:
The next SAC meeting is Tuesday, March 10th at 8:00am in the front office.

PTSA:
The next PTSA meeting is scheduled for March 10th at 6:00pm @ Beef’s in Dade City.

Early Release Day:
The next scheduled early release day for the students is this Wednesday, March 11th.  Students will be released at 12 noon.

Spring Break Holiday:
There is no school on Monday, March 16th thru Friday, March 20th for Spring Break. Additionally, there is no school for students on Monday, March 23rd as the teachers plan for the 4th quarter.
